The interesting Let It Wave bandlet transform scaling, deinterlacing, frame rate transformation, and noise reduction technology is now being offered as a low-cost IC. The question relevant to this forum is whether stand-alone processors based on this chip will be commercialized.

As far as I can tell the only technology that they have put on an ASIC is SupraFRC, which is their frame-rate conversion technology.

An existing video processor manufacturer could incorporate this technology in conjunction with another ASIC/FPGA that does deinterlacing, scaling, noise reduction, color correction but I think it would be more likely that they would develop their own technology in-house.
