Got in on this Slick Deals for a Creative Labs Audigy 2 ZS Gamer LE . Ended up it's gonna cost me $73.91. Not bad considering I don't own any of the games (except Halo on xbox):

Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy

Halo: Combat Evolved

Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cel

Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield

My room is 12x10 and right now I have an incredible sounding
Harmon Kardon HK595 2.1 setup. These puppies were something crazy like $150 5+ years ago.. I'm gonna miss em.

Anyway.. decided I might as well get 7.1. and be done w/ it. Been eyeing the Creative Inspire T7700 over @ Walmart, cheapest place I've found so far!! $78.62 before shipping/tax. Here's a T7700 Review

Gonna be used 50/50 Streaming music/Games. Have a dedicated HT for movies :D

So, what the T7700's lack for in punch compared to my HKs, I'll hope they make up in quantity. I figure even for $100 for speakers.. it won't be that bad a mess if they don't meet my expectations. I figure if they're THAT bad I can always give them to my parents and they'd be thrilled to death of having a 'HT' system.... I could even go so far as getting the
Creative Decoder for ~$140.

Anyone wanna try to talk me out of the T7700s? After writing up this thread it sounds like I'm pretty much set on em.

Lookin at the specs:

My old HK 2.1

6 inch 40w Sub

10w per Sat

T7700

6.5 24w Sub

8w per sat

20w Center.

Eh... on paper it looks like the HK win, guess I really need to see what is demo'd at the local computer stores. (Although from past memory, I don't think Best Buy demos their computer speakers... dunno)

So you think 7.1 would be stupid overkill for a 10x12 room? What's everyone got?

Thanks,

Mike
