Recently purchased a mint Lexicon DC-1, loaded with all all of the available processing upgrades, but have yet to install it as some of the equipment I purchased for my A/V set is still on the way.

While surfing the web tonight, I came across a preowned "mint" Millenium DTS decoder for about an 1/8 of what I paid for the Lexicon. I read some reviews on this unit and they were raves.

My question: is the DC-1 a a much better component than the Millenium? Is there a significant gap in the sound/performance/capabilities between these two items?

Thanks very much for your input.

The DC-1 is a pre-amp..the Millenium is simply a DTS decoder..

Don't know if your DC-1 has dts capability - if it does then you don't need the Millenium - if it doesn't then get the Millenium piece..

I used to have one as an add on to a dolby prologic pre-amp and it worked great.

The Millineum gives you only DTS, The Lexicon will give you many different sound processing modes. Including my personal favorite Logic 7. I owned a DC-1 and loved it before I moved up to the MC-1 and finally the MC-12.
