I have been happily using my HTPC for many many months with WinDVD 2.3 and the M-Audio 2496 soundcard and the ATI Radeon VE.

This has worked flawlessly with my previous EAD Ovation, and current Denon AVR-3801.

Well this evening I got a used Lexicon MC-1 with V4 software.

All I get is the very fast clicking sound out of all speakers. Can't seem to get a lock. I plug in a standalone dvd player into the same Lexicon input and all is OK.

Anyone have any suggestions ?

Thanks - Andy

I got the same thing at first when I was setting mine up, but I can't remember which set of circumstances it was at the time. How are you setting up the 24/96? Did you mess with any of the output sample rate settings? Sometimes, the problem is that the signal gets resampled, which confuses the processor because it no longer looks like DD/DTS data anymore.

I removed the 2496 driver and downloaded the most recent.

Still the same problem.

So I went into the M-Audio Control Panel app.

I checked and unchecked some settings and then it worked !!!

I swear that ulitmately I did not change any settings.

... just needed a kick.
