My beloved MC-1 bit the dust. I think the power supply failed. I know there are many great units, but the MC-1 has an important feature; its size. It is only 12" deep. Most of the units I see are 16-18" deep. My cabinet is too shallow to accept most units. Are there any processors that are near the depth of my Lexicon? I might consider getting it repaired since I only use 5.1 ch. Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks Pro, but since I bought this unit used,[lasted six years] I was hoping to find a new unit with a small form factor. I can't believe todays processors are so huge.

I still have my MC-1 but switched it out for the new Integra DHC-40.1. On bluray, it sounds SLIGHTLY better, but better with the new sound codecs and Audyssey. As far as the depth, the MC-1 is 12" deep and the 40.1 is just over 13" deep (although it is a lot taller). I hope that helps!

Last year my MC-1 started giving me error codes. I was told by Lexicon that some kind of board needed to be checked. They had a fixed minimum repair price (around $400 if I recall). I found that you could find used MC-1 for around $600 in the internet so I decided not to fix mine and bought an Anthem D2 processor instead (a lot more money though and much bigger in size).

The MC-1 is a great unit. I only got to like the Anthem better after using its room correction feature. If you know that the power supply in your MC-1 is bad, have you considered buying a used MC-1 in need of repair that has a good power supply? You might be able to spend much less money.

Thanks for the advice Nicof. I'm bidding on an MC 4 now, but it is larger than my MC-1. Still hoping to find something that can fit on a shelf.

Don't mean to sound snippy - but don't you think your audio deserves a shelf big enough for it's needs? BTW, the MC-4 is a great HT processor - I have the JBL version (AV-1) and love it.

No offense taken dssmith, but I am limited by the wife factor. I must keep the furniture my MC-1 called home. Hoping someone knows of a processor that is not very deep.
