My LG 4200A is starting to exhibit a "clipping" sound on only 1 of the local HDTV stations (OTA). I think it's the box because the clipping noise is only heard on the LG, not on my other digital-only STBs (no HD) or on any other station. I'm not ready to buy a new tv yet so does anyone still make an HDTV STB comparable to the LG (has to have a DVI output, not HDMI).

One of the very few available is the Centronics ZAT 502 . It has HDMI, not DVI, but you can get an adapter. There also are (or used to be) other branded clones of the same box.

Also available is the DTVPal HD DVR . It has HDMI. A clone of it is sold under the ChannelMaster brand.

EDIT: One DVI box is the K-world SA290 . Really funky menu, though. I don't think you would like it.
