hey there, first timer here.

im the owner of an LG 42lc2d for a few years. i recently got a ps3 and wanted to start doing calibrations for my tv. unfortunately there doesnt seem to be much out there for the calibration settings so i plan on getting a calibration disc and going at it.

ive noticed there are a few posts :

ww.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=824966

related to this set and the service menu but no answers. so id like to kinda bump to see if anyone has any info on some explanations of the service menu options so that i can go about calibrating my set and maybe helping out a couple of people looking for the same info.

so if anyone has any links or info on the LG 42lc2d service menu id be much appreciated if they can send it my way

Entering the service menu can be dangerous stuff and it's easy to screw up your TV. There are many stories on this forum of guy that did just that. Additionally, entering the service menu could void your warranty.

The user menu has virtually everything a consumer needs to adjust their set. Unless you have the proper tools and expertise entering the service menu will do you no good.

the options i am given in my regular user menu are very generic. there isnt any real detail controls to adjust. for example for color temperature, my only options are cool, warm, medium.

for black level: high, low.

from seeing posts on calibration, it looks like im being asked to fine tune adjust levels for white, saturation, etc and i dont seem to have those controls available.
