after weeks of research, I finally shrink down to 2 choice: LG 55LH90 or Samsung UN55B7000

It is for my family room - several windows with wood shutters, which is bright but I can use wood shutters to mininum the lights.

I have hard time to decide between these 2, 55LH90 has Lip synch issue but Sammy has buzzle issue, 55LH90 has matte screen which is better than Sammy's shiny screen in bright room. 55LH90 is much thicker than UN55B7000....

However, which one has better PQ ? I have seen both in Best Buy, to me UN55B7000 seens better but according to many reviews 55LH90 has great PQ too, so I don't know which one to choose now.

The LG55LH90 scores only Very Good in Picture Quality with SD material. UN55B7000 should be Excellent with SD material.

If you watch a lot of SD material you may like the Samsung better, but, unless you had both TVs side by side you might never see that difference.

The matte screen may be a real advantage.

My recommendation would be to get the one YOU want. The way your first post read, it looked like you were leaning toward the Samsung. Then you jumped to the LG based on one response. The reason most people ask for help is to get a bunch of replies. So, if you're in a hurry to buy, my advice stands. Get the one YOU want. I certainly wouldn't buy anything based on one recommendation from a complete stranger who said the LG's PQ with SD material is "very good" while the Samsung's PQ with SD material is "excellent." Then you chose the LG anyway. That's why I'm confused.

Good luck in your choice.

Good luck in your choice.

Personally I like Sammy better than LG ( brand wise ), and what was my original choice, but LG 55LH90 has several important advantage than Sammy:

1. LED local dimming - less power consumption and deeper black

2. Matte screen for less reflection

3. Better off angle viewing

Then I read other post in this forum which helps me make up my mind to go for LG 55LH90, thanks for your help !

LG has taken huge strides in the past few years. As far as quality goes, I would easily put them AT LEAST on par with Samsung. The panels they typically use (IPS) don't have the greatest blacks so their low-mid range TV's (and Plasmas) still aren't as good as some of the other brands (IMHO) but their high-end LED LD TV's are very good and are considerably cheaper. Their 2010 lineup looks very promising too.

Keep in mind that what you see in store is not a very good representation of the performance you'll get at home (especially in a darkened room), not to mention the settings on the show floor aren't what people would typically use at home.

I agree that people should go with the TV they think looks better, but only if you're able to get the remote and play around with the TV in a typical home viewing environment.

But if my vote counts for anything, I would go with the LH90.
