Do you use "use colored noise" and "change dither for every frame"

Neither actually, even though those are the defaults. But again, it would be difficult to see a difference, especially on a 48".

Also, what are you thoughts on 'smooth motion' in madVR?

With your 3080 there is no need to trade any quality for performance, IMO. Smooth Motion is great for certain use cases, but you have a display capable of 120Hz, so it's not necessary. The name can be confusing, but it has nothing to do with interpolation. If I had a CX, I'd use your original "switch" line with only those three combos and call it a day.
