Trust me, if you think you've come up with a scoop, you probably haven't. Do a search first.

I suppose they could sell it as a Blu-ray / Hi Definition DVD player or something of the sorts.
I hope that HD DVD still has legal recourse. At some point LG had to acquire the decryption technology though but it appears the DVD Forum just doesn't want someone marketing a product that doesn't live up to it's name.
