OK, how's THIS for a WEIRD one....

On my (newly purchased) LG LSS-3200A D*& OTA HD receiver, here is what is happening:

Via the Toslink Digital Audio OUT, I only get sound on SOME channels. (All the OTA Digital channels come in fine, all the D* HD channels are fine). However, MOST of the channels in the 200 numbers, and about half in the 500 numbers (just for examples) do NOT come in. No sound. Some of these are DD 2.0, some are DD 5.1 and some are Dolby Surround.

When I turn to these channels with NO SOUND and use the Speakers on the TV (i.e., not using the Toslink digital) but rather an Analog connection, there is sound on ALL the Channels....

WTF....!?!?!? is going on??? Weidest thing!?!?!?!

seems it's a bug in the LG. It might help for you to be specific on the bad channels and let others comment on their experience. My Samsung 160 has no problem like that.

Your audio receiver should be auto-switching to the best signal. And your LG should be encoding analog as PCM into the optical out. Can you force the audio receiver into analog and see if it's there when there is no optical stream. Check your preferences and see if there are any ALT audio choices you may have selected. Try these things and report back...
