Li On and TK, is there a Far East version of Denon 5800

Li On and TK.

When I was in HK a couple of years ago I bought (from Monkok) a Denon AVC A1D which was a 220v HK and European version of the USA marketed 5700.

Do you have any idea if or when Denon will release the a version of the 5800.

It's funny I can think of a few other forums were that note would rattle a few people. Actually, my local dealer that I bought my 5700 from was just telling me the big news!!! Denon is coming out with a 5800. Wow! I didn't know that http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif . He did offer me the full sales price back on my 5700 if I ordered a 5800 from him. So, I did. It should be good for the family room, until the 5900 arrives in a few months. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hi Eric,

Denon has a new receiver released few months ago. The model is A10SE with native DD-EX support. Price is around $1300. Maybe it's the 5800 in US?

regards,

Li On
I think that is the same as the 4800!

Hi RickS,

In Hong Kong, the new Denon A10SE replaced the A1D which Eric said is the US 5700. That means in US the 5700 was replaced by 4800. Really don't understand why Denon use so confusing model numbering in different area!

regards,

Li On
Li On,

Rick is right, the A1S0 SE is the 4800 in the US. They are selling this in UK as A1SO SE but it is not a replacement for the A1D (5700). Although this machine is EX it does not power the extra chanels nor does it do DTS ES like the 5800.

Li On, any chance of asking around for me please as I am planing a trip to HK in September
