Scott beat me to it. That thread, and more specifically the rope_3.jpg drawing, were what got me over the hump. Mine was a little different in that the "backer" board I put up first was a piece of baseboard turned upside-down like a lot of the other folks have done. This was done in order to "build up" the appearance of the molding.
All in all I think it came out pretty sweet and everyone who sees it loves it. Gotta thank all the people up here for that nice bit of icing on the cake.
