Line level audio

I'd like to share and connect my CD player located downstairs into a receiver upstairs. Are there any limits on running line level signals over long distances? If so, any recommendations?

You could use a modulator, but whats the point? The modulator will cost as much or more then another CD player. (considering the price of CD players these days). Also, consider the added flexibility of having two separate units.
I have run an RG-6 quad shielded cable (all copper, not copper clad steel ccs) about 75 feet. I wouldn't go much farther than that.
