Linux RTVPatch Boot Disk Does Not Recognize CD Drive

285 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Mikeyboy
I am trying to fix my reboot of death problem by putting the Panasonic Showstopper 2000 series program onto the har drive from a CD. However, the only drive that shows up as available after booting with the Linux boot disk is the hard drive; the CD with the good program does not show up. I have two CDs, but neither shows up as one of the drives. How do I get the Linux boot disk method to recognize on of the CDs so I can copy from the CD to the showstopper hard drive????

Thanks for your help.

Try this. I had basically the same question in the thread below. -mk http://replayfaq.reidpix.com/faq.asp?id=98
I just tried the linux put the image back on the drive script twice. It worked both times but I had to patch the drive with RTVpatch one of the times. I observed that if you connect the drives exactly as the instructions suggest the script will work. Only connect the cdrom, replay drive and if you wish the windows disk. I noticed there was no indication that the cdrom was present except that I didn't get any warning message after inputting each step of script. I also was able to use the image from the windows hard disk simply by substituting "hdb" with "hda1" the rest of the script is exactly the same. Of course Replay.img should be right where it copied itself to I.E. C:/replay.img.
