I'm hoping to get a better understanding of what processing the 2805 does depending on what input I use from my DVD2910 universial player.
Playing regular CD's:
If I use the digital inputs (cox or tos) all the decoding and processing is done by the receiver, and I have all the enhancement options ( speaker size, distance, auto setup) available to be adjusted on the receiver side.
But what happens if I use the 2-channel audio outputs from the 2910? I know the conversion to analog sound happens in the dvd2910, but what happens in the 2805 side? Are the enhancement options available? If so, does the 2805 then convert the analog input it's getting to digital to apply the enhancement options?
How about if I use the ext 5.1 input on the 2805 and the 6 channel outputs from the 2910? The conversion takes place in the 2910, but no enhancement options are available in the 2805, correct? But are the speaker settings I made in the 2910 multi-channel setup applied?
thanks for any help understanding what I'm listening to.
