Eric Clapton - 461 Ocean Boulevard seems to be on heavy rotation around here, might have to check it out.
I'm a casual Clapton fan, so I hadn't bought it for unknown reasons, but people started playing it recently so I looked at the track list again, and realized it had at least two hits on it, so I bought it, found it a solid album.

Thanks for the insight, I am actually a casual fan of most of the music that is sold as high-res (classic rock) but I can appreciate music. Trying to broaden my horizons more and more.

There's a lot of good stuff out there, some of it even affordable, heavy on the classic rock. You can go to Amazon.com, and search for SACD and DVD-A and probably still find some stuff new, you could 2 years ago.
Acoustic Sounds used to have a large selection of multi channel SACD, it gets smaller every year.

I have searches of SACD 5.1 and multi, DVD-A and Blu Ray Audio for ebay, I've bought pretty much everything affordable, but if you're just starting out, you might be able to get some stuff at a decent price. I got lucky as I got some in the early 2000's at list price. :D They even occasionally release stuff now, but unfortunely often part of an expensive "Super Deluxe" set.

There's also some great multi channel music available on DVD at very low prices.
The Queen DVD is very much liked on this thread, I also like the others I listed.

There are others not as good by Motley Crue, Madonna*, Cyndi Lauper and Billy Joel.

Excellent thanks for all of that. I will continue to keep looking around and bookmarking good sites. I just discovered acoustic sounds today. The site looks pretty solid.

Almost always a 'Sunday morning' listen, as it was today, Mahler's 2nd Symphony.
[see thumbnail attachment]

While I have found a few rarity/gems on the 'Bay & AMAZ, the majority of my brand-new SACD buys have been from AcousticSounds.

AMAZ, in particular, can be annoying as hell:
Inaccurate listings, incomplete shipment, fraudulent sellers, all run into there during a 7 month attempt to acquire the TELARC SACD of "Mahler's 2nd Symphony (Resurrection)."

That included one shipment in standard CD format, TWO shipments of the same single disc (it's a two disc recording) from some idiot in Las Vegas who also never verified what she was selling.
And even worse failed to recognize my address/shipping info as THE VERY SAME one to which she'd shipped it less than 10 days earlier!

Finally DID get it, through AMAZ, from Germany.
And at significantly less than the $100 stateside sellers were asking.

Create an account and build your 'wish list' first, thereafter...
Keep an eye out for their periodic sales or, better yet, sign-up for 'notifications' from them.

Took a dive into the available catalog during the 4th of July sale at 15% off, then...
A few days later a VERY SHORT TERM sale came up at 20% off!!
(Be it noted, the end-of-year 'Holiday Sale' tends to last for awhile.)

Dang:( The only version I'm finding has DD 5.1 surround sound not DTS 5.1. Some folks complaining about the DD 5.1... Not sure I want to risk it... Unless someone here has the DD version and can weigh in on their experience
You are correct in that the Fleetwood Mac S/T 5.1 mix only offers Dolby Digital audio. I haven't seen any explanation for the reason why DTS was not an option. I was disappointed as well knowing this but bought the deluxe box set anyhow. The SQ and mix are fine and well worth buying IMO. It's a shame that all of the Fleetwood Mac box sets do not have Blu-ray or DVD-A in hi-res. But like with Jethro Tull deluxe sets that also only offer DVDs it's better than no 5.1 mixes at all in any disc format.

I just checked Amazon and the Fleetwood Mac deluxe box set is available for about $55 shipped. Not a bad deal.

Not that I'm a Golden Ear, but I have found all of the Fleetwood Mac 5.1 mixes that I've heard to sound excellent.
Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Tusk and Mirage.

Rumours is available in Hi Rez DVD-A(which I have. one of the ones I got when it came out), and there is a copy available on ebay right now at a reasonable price.:)

That is how I have felt on Amazon. It's hard to tell if your looking at an sacd or not. Especially once you start going through specific listings.

Good idea on creating a wish list. I'll get that going.

A: Sounds great, as well, and I'm not particularly an Alice in Chains fan.
B: For Amazon, one way is to do a google search for so and so SACD, and there should be a link to the right listing on Amazon in the google search results. Usually, it will say SACD in the title. Read the description, if there is one. It will generally cost more then a standard CD. So far, I've only been screwed once, by a seller that listed a CD as a DVD-A.
Also, just searching for SACD should bring up thousands of SACD. Many, maybe most, will show up as CD on the search results, but if you click through, you'll see SACD appended to the title.

Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms is a top notch SACD still available at a good price.:)

I'm believe @weekendtoy meant DD 5.1.

I have it and I recommend it.

Have you found this yet? Probably the single greatest resource for multi channel music.

https://www.hraudio.net/music.php

I have not thank you.

As for Amazon I have found a lot of sacd. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell once I select it if it's actually sacd. But the price does usually give it away.

I have the brothers in arms album it's really good.

I have a small collection of sacds that have been ripped to Flac from when I was still using nefarious means to aquire media. (No longer doing that).

As far as playing discs im putting a few bucks aside here and there to get a player. Probably will just be the Sony X800.
