It makes a small amount of noise when it spins up. Other than that it's quiet (at least the version with volume control & jack). I didn't have any problems before I sold it.
Lite-On DVD-R?
Has anyone used this drive (click on the image link)? I think the lack of a volume control and microphone jack would be good if you were putting this in a custom case (i.e. make it look like a HT component instead of a computer). I've used Lite-on products in the past but was wondering about the noise levels of this particular unit (and if there are any reliability problems)?
