So, I'm trying to decide between two LCD TVs, both from Samsung: LN46C650 and LN46D630.

They both cost about 850 at my local Bestbuy (the LN46C650 at Bestbuy is sold as LN46C670). I couldn't find useful info comparing their picture quality. I know that LN46C650 has Samsung apps which is a plus but I'm more concerned about PQ. I think LN46D630 is their 2011 model but LN46C650 is 2010 but I don't want to get the newer model just because it's newer.

Which one you'd choose and why?

I'd take the C670. Yes, it has apps which is neat, but keep in mind that it is 2010 suite of apps (not the 2011 Smart Hub) so I'm assuming you probably won't receive many updates. All things considered I prefer the picture on the C670 because it uses the Ultra Clear Panel, which is prefer to the semi-matte look of the D630. Gives better contrast especially in daylight.

Be sure that your local BB still actually has NIB 670s and they are not open-box/display units (unless you're cool with that). They have been discontinued for quite a few months now.

Thanks for the reply. This morning my local BB had one LN46C670 in stock, but it's gone now. So, I think I will get the LN46D630. Unless someone else has a better suggestion.

Actually, I found LN46C750 for $1000 in some other store. Do you think LN46C750 is worth the extra money compared to LN46D630? Does it have better PQ?

unfortunately I never got to see a C750 in person. If they were anything like the B750s, which were excellent displays, I'd say $1000 is a good buy. 240 Hz is nice to have.

Although if you plan on watching 3D on it, they use older (different than current) Samsung 3D glasses and 3D performance was not very good on 2010 LCD/LED models.
