The stupid weather crawl / map is ruining broadcast HDTV in Wichita. I just got this installed and to see a program that is supposed to be HDTV in this case the dreadful 8 Simple Rules... with the awful black bars on the sides is inexcusable!


Let's see my fellow Kansans....how many times do you see that stupid map a year? Yeah way too many to have this problem. Anyone contact them about it?


Imagine a blizzard or something during the Superbowl, it would ruin it!

Having lived in Kanas for 16 years I can imagine that it would really ruin my day to not be aware of a funnel cloud descending on my location like the finger of an angry god while I sit blissfully unaware watching a situation comedy in glorious high definition. When a local broadcaster chooses to honor his obligation to serve his community by providing severe weather information it may be an annoyance if the station does not own the equipment to key a banner announcement over network supplied high definition.


Equipment will eventually become available and affordable to do this the 'right' way. Patience.
