Well, I have yet to see a 30" Loewe that didn't have this problem and I've looked at close to 2 dozen ranging in manufactured date from May 2000 to April 2002. Some just seem to be plagued by it worse than others. However, the problem only seems to be apparent when your viewing 480i or lower material once you get to 480p or higher the problem goes away.
However, there is a problem I've noticed once you get to 1080i material you can sometimes get vertical shadow lines down the left edge of the screen. This problem I've seen on both 38" and 30" Loewe's, however the problem you speak of only seems to happen on the 30", but I've only checked about 3 38's so I can't really confirm it.
The easiest way I find to check and see if your set has this problem is to select a input where you get a black screen when no signal is sent to it (a blue screen will not show this problem) than raise the brightness and contrast up until the screen starts to look grey.
Report back and let us know if Loewe plans to attempt to fix the problem in anyway.
