A local Good Guys has a Loewe model HDT100 HDTV decoder on display. It was connected to a Loeve 30" 16x9 HDTV-capable flat screen direct view unit.

The HDT100 was connected via RGB to the 30" display, which had RGB in. Also, the decoder has component, s-video (in & out), and the standard video and audio outputs.

There were a couple of interesting things at the back. One, there's an RS232 connector. Second, a rotary knob with four different settings for 1081i, 720p, 480p, and 480i. No DirectTV on the unit; price: $1499.

The 30" display is a flat-screen, 2 tuner PIP, VGA, component, and s-video. Unit was called Aconda, model AC09303PB; price $3599.
