Much like 2010 the DVD of this was awful.

Lets hope it has been re-transferred as the HD cable transfer was not soo hot.

I remember setting up my new Sharp 46" 1080p LCD in the office, powering up the Tvix 5000 and playing back Logans Run and wondering if something was wrong with the TV, but it turned out to be the transfer-soft with poor color. Maybe the color was the directors intention, but the resolution/detail surely was not.


Keeping my finger crossed. Farah Fawcett in one of her earlier roles I think?

Yes. Not to mention Jenny Agutter stripping off her clothes... You couldn't see much in SD, since she was so far off in the distance (it was rated PG), but HD will be interesting...

How do you know? They slapped tons of make up on Michael York to take ten years off of his age. It wouldn't surprise me if Laszlo shot the whole film through fog filters which was a common practice in the mid 70's.

It was very old film but worthing to get this BD.

The artwork for this and North by Northwest are not very pleasing, and prayerfully they are tentative. The Warner DVD of Logan's Run had its issues, but having bad cover artwork was not one of them. The films poster is perfectly suited for cover art.

This announcement was a pleasant surprise. I only hope WB does a good job on this one and doesn't go the 2010 route with it; it's one of the last of the classic MGM sci-fi movies and deserves a good transfer and a nice set of extras.


Now, if they would only announce Forbidden Planet on BD I'd really be a happy camper.

I'm surprised to hear this. Hopefully they won't mess it up. The colors should be fantastic. Is this going to coincide with the release of the remake?

The oft-planned remake is not even in production, so I'd say the answer would be "no."

If logans run on BD is as much an improvement as 2010 on BD I'll be satisfied.

I think the reason the HD cable transfer did not look too hot was because it was either cropped or zoomed or both. This will definately be worth getting so it can finally be viewed OAR high definition. Should be good.
