From my two channel days, the goal was always to keep speaker cables short. In my last house, I had equipment rack in another room and ran good quality shielded coax to the front of the room where I had my front three channel amp. This allowed for short speaker cable runs.

In my current theater, the room is 26' deep, so I will have to 40-50 foot runs from the equipment rack at the rear, to the front of the room for the main speakers and some of the subs. I am trying to decide what course to follow. Should I keep the amps in the equipment room and run long speakers cables, or run coax and have a small rack in the front of the room (behind stage and screen) to run main and sub amps? My amps have a trigger so the rack can turn them on if I go that route. Any suggestions?
