Take a look at this crude rendering and tell me please what number 1, 2, and 3 are and how they interact with the end result.

I am new and have a BD808 that I have very close to getting the max out of it but I don't have a service manual. So from what I have been reading I think:

1 is the yoke? (goes forward to backward, don't turn)

2 focus rings? (turn these???) or are they magnets

3 is ???? (is this a POT???)

I know from reading that they all do something I just want to make sure before i start turning and sliding these thing and do any damage.

I also think that from the other post I have read that these all can be manipulated while the projector is on, I'm just not sure.

Any and all replies will be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Warren

It was there, I saw it. Now it's gone and I don't see it on your new post either??

1. Yes.

2. Flare and stigmator rings. Magnets I believe.

3. That's indeed a pot. Dunno what it's for though.

That would be from left to right:

1) Clamp bolt with ground wire attached (box)

2) Focus Coil (I)

3) Stig adjustment ring /Magnets (II)

4) Flair Adjustment ring /Magnets (II)

5) Adjustment pot? (III)

Thanks all for the info.

One thing I need to know is if these all can be adjusted while the projector is on?

If one does adjust these while under power how dangerous is it with respect to electrical shock. Do you guys wear rubber gloves or something else or are these not needed?

Thanks,

I wouldn't mind knowing this myself!

I think I could get a better mechanical focus out of my three guns on the BG808 but have no real knowledge of electronics and am too scared to touch them.

Am I right in assuming I would just turn the black plastic coated knob in the area circled I for a mechanical focus adjustment? Do I then have to slide the assembly or is turning it sufficient?

Thanks

Regards

David
