I had the Epic Grand Master 500 for a little more than a year, and for the money, I felt it was truly a nice sound system and one which worked effectively for music and movies. I would recommend upgrading to the 22's and the 150 as oppossed to their smaller cousins you are asking about...
I still use my 22's as rear speakers and have uprgraded almost everything else since having a full axiom speaker system. Demo's are hard due to their internet sales, but it's worth a leap of faith. They do accept returns (I sent back several pairs of floorstanding speakers) although it was a hassle.
Check the Axiom board under "Hearing Things" section. The first post has Axiom owners who are willing to demo their system. You can also contact Amie to see if there are other owners in your area who are willing but not listed on the site.
