Looking at next level possibilities from AudioEngine

Hello, I'm currently looking at a pair of AudioEngine A5+ wireless as I've had the AudioEngine A5's for a few years now with my MacBook Pro, however I'm wondering what the next step would be here or if these are truly something worth keeping at. I am interested in seeing how the market has changed and what passive bookshelf speakers are looking like now that I can sit on my desk (I will hook up and look into some type of amp with this as well) since I've last looked, as it's been a while ;).

1) Budget - 500-750
2) Listening - 90% music (EDM i.e. dubstep/melodical/future/trap/house/techno/etc, think Soundcloud), 10% gaming
3) Existing audio - Like I mentioned I had a pair of AudioEngine A5+'s and these have served my purpose well in my taste but I feel like I may be isolating myself possibly now to other offerings. :)
4) Size of my room - 13 x 11 x 7.5 ft currently (Here is the layout attachment from my previous thread for the subwoofer https://www.avsforum.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=2603828&d=1566058784)

5) Placement - Mainly on my desk (63", on the outer sides of my monitor on the left and laptop on the right)
6) I do enjoy the 5" cones that the A5+'s offer as they give great mid ranges in my experience
7) Rythmik f12 for the subwoofer (thread for this here https://www.avsforum.com/forum/113-...subwoofer-recommendation-music-questions.html), integration would be nice here
8) Definitely more of a bass head but I'm going to let the subwoofer take care of these

I do have a thread about this previously although for HT purposes which is no longer the case over here https://www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/2376322-recommended-speaker-setup-small-room.html and would like to get a feel of what brands I should look at and those I can be wary of.
I've followed Elac's for a while now although not the subwoofers now, as well as the design of KEF however I'm not entirely sure of the quality which would take a priority here, as well as some others.

Does the budget include the amp and preamp?

A couple of options there:

DAC + Preamp: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N14SY65/
Amplifier: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B077GWVHHN/

Some are available with tone controls as well.

Can also get an AVR which makes this much simpler and gives you good bass management options, necessary for a subwoofer. I suggest one with Audyssey XT32 and using the app to limit correction to 400-500 Hz. Paired with neutral speakers that won't need correction above that as you're listening nearfield - the room won't have a big influence and the direct sound will dominate.

It does not, I look at this as an investment up front for durability on each component. I will probably also seek advice and look around when it comes to AMP choices as well as AMP’s versus pre-AMP’s in the AMP section of he forums since I’m not entirely familiar with this area exactly as well as DSP controllers if necessary (I don’t believe they will be here from what I’ve gathered) and further research in general. Im also not overly concerned about how much wattage the speakers have except for maybe at least what the A5+’s have probably as I’ll grab the necessary AMP for it. Will put those on the table for consideration though! 🙂
If you have the room, JBL Studio 530.

Q acoustics Concept 20. Small form factor great sound. If you can up your budget a little Kef LS50's would be a nice step up in sound quality.

A decent stereo receiver would work nicely if you don't plan on expanding beyond 2.1.

These look quite interesting, as do the rest. Also, how would the Elac debut 2.0 b6.2 would stack up here? Another thing to note about that one is the port - I was under the impression that this is geared for HT so I can make that assumption here as well? Not completely sure what the role of this would be here exactly due to the smaller size than a sub unless it’s for SPL or something.
Kali LP-6 has a sound that is closer to the JBL 305P.

JBL Studio 530 is most likely > LP-6 and 305P
