Looking at Tosh 42H83 -- any others should I look at ?

I am new to this, and the Toshiba 42H83 has caught my eye. First off it seems to be on sale at all the local retailers, and the key for me is it is very shallow (18 2/3" deep according to their site). So I am looking for something 20" deep or less preferably. I don't think I have found any other sets that can fit under that besides DLP which is way out of my range.

Is this a good entry level TV? My current TV is a 25" generic brand, so anytihng is an improvement. Reliability is key for me over super perfect picture quality... I just want something that will work for normal cable tv viewing and the ocassional DVD (which probably will be connected via s-vid -- maybe components if it really makes that big of a difference) and maybe some video games like xbox.

Any other suggestions, or anything unreliable about this Toshiba?

Thanks!

I can't answer your questions but I was wondering the same things about this set. I'm looking for a set for the spare bedroom that will be used for PS2 & X-box gaming and maybe a DVD once in a while. I was going to get a 32 to 36 HDTV tube set but for under $1100.00 the 42H83 is appealing.
