Looking for a DVD Nav for Mazda 3


I ended up getting a Garmin Nuvi 255w unit, and a "sticky disk" so I can mount the little unit on top of my dash but below windshield level (not blocking view of the road, nor blocking the instruments). Even with the lifetime maps and extended warranty, it's half the price of the unit you were pointing to, and my unit has been moved to a second car of a different brand, and all it cost me was a second "sticky disk".

 

The down side is that it doesn't blend with the manufacturer's style.

I have never heard of koolertron. Plus it looks similar to an all in one carpc.


I would expect to spend 450-700 on an in dash GPS head unit. Spending under that would bring questions of reliability (you get what you pay for). While I agree with Clay on just adding a stand alone GPS unit, your aesthetic tastes are what has to be accomodated.


Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, JVC and Clarion all make GPS head units that work fairly well. Just make sure it's easy to update the maps and POI. Don't be shocked at prices.

Just a note, Koolertron is a "order from China" internet company. Usually very little recourse if something goes wrong, language barrier, usually hard to get tech support.
