Hi,

I have several hundred PAL (and NTSC) video tapes which I would like to copy to DVD.

I am looking for a DVD recorder which can record in NTSC and PAL format.

I do not care about a tuner or harddrive.

The recorder does not need to have a conversion option, I just want to be able to copy from NTSC to NTSC and PAL to PAL.

I am also looking for one with a descent analog capture quality.

There are many DVD recorders offered world-import.com, dvdoverseas, 220-electronics, .... but I cannot find any good reviews. They all look like lower-end models, but I could be wrong.

Does anybody have a good recommendation?

Thanks,

DA

Pioneer and Panasonic are the best and will cost much more than the cheaper models. If the tapes are important to you and you want to obtain the best conversion to DVD then Pioneer or Panasonic are the only choice. I own both types with hard drives and they are excellent. Either manufacturer is highly recommended.
