hey guys i currently bought a new sammy 32 inch tv for my room. but after getting it home i noticed that it was a bit too small for my liking. So i have decided on getting a 37 inch TV. However, my budget is still the same unfortunately. :-/ i paid about 550 for my 23 inch 720p tv, but i was wondering if there are any good 37 inch TVs out there that are around the same price.

I was looking around at some vizios but thats about it. The TV will be use mainly for gaming, but will be hooked up to the computer from time to time, and i sit about 3-5 from my tv when playing games.

thanks for the input!

They're out there, but I don't think they'd be great for gaming. Check out Tiger Direct or CompUSA (same company, slightly different products.) They've got a Vizio 37" for $570 and an LG (720p) for $600. Slightly over your budget, but unfortunately, I don't think you're going to find anything for right at $500. Best of luck!

Edit: Okay, I saw 500, not 550. That's what I get for posting before coffee. Well, the Vizio may be your best bet. Try to find the owner's thread for it and start there.

At that price point, there are two options I would consider:

1. Check you local retailers like Best Buy for open box buys. Every now and again you get a decent deal and the manufacturer's warranty is stilll vaild, so is the store's return/exchange policy.

2. Go searching... I just saw the Toshiba 37" 502 LCD at BB.

Happy hunting!

FYI, last day, but newegg.com has the regza 37" (very good tv from what I've read) for 550 and free shipping. It's last year's model but the difference between last and this year seems to be 1080p for this year (not available at the same price) and a worse processor (10bit vs the purepixel 14 bit system in the regza). I might just have to hop on the Regza deal myself.
