I'm looking for a remote, preferably hard button, that can raise\\lower volume of my AV, and change the channel of my VCR without pressing the devise button each time I switch between volume and channel.

Thanks

What brand/model are your receiver and VCR? It is very likely that the Rat Shack 15-1994 or UEIC Cinema 7+ remote will do what you want. It's a simple matter of using either the volume punch-thru feature or programming the receiver volume up/down/mute buttons onto the same buttons for the VCR. That's what I do for my VCR, DVD and laserdisc players. Check out Hifi-remote.com for detailed info on these remotes.

Mike,

When it comes to remotes, the absolute king of the hill is the Pronto.

The 1000 model is fairly inexpensive now, and it will do the tasks that you describe.

I have my volume hard bottoms to work on the receiver, the channels work on my Satelite, and my left right work on my DVD player.

So can set them up or make them learn whatever you wish.

Good luck.

Mike: there is not a lot of info in what you right. Like how much you want to spend.

like carlosrojas-pdx said the Pronto is a great remote, but it uses a touch screen

You might also want to look at the Harmony, it is very new and there is not as much information, but the info I have heard is all more or less good. It is mostly buttons, but not many of them

An other remote with a good reputation is the MX500 from HTM.
