Currently have a pair of Klipsch RF-42 II’s. Because of some space issues I’m looking to replace these with a smaller bookshelf speaker that will be used only for Music listening. Budget is $150 for a pair. I’ll be using the Klipsch in another room. I do have a subwoofer already.

I’ve done some research and …

1. Cambridge Audio S-20

2. Pioneer SP-BS21-LR

3. Polk Audio TSi100

4. Mordaunt-Short - Alumni 2

I would at least consider the Cambrige Audio S30, and there is also the Dennis Murphy modified Pioneer BS22 for $150 which makes some fantastic improvements. http://www.philharmonicaudio.com/folio-me/html/Phil%20Pages/AALS.html

As others said, I would definitely look at the S30 rather than the S20. But they are above budget. I also hear the SP-BS22 is a nice upgrade over the BS21. And only $130. And frequently on sale.

Other options in your price range:

Def Tech SM350 are temporarily at $129 after rebate at Newegg:

Pioneer SP-BS41LR are $69 after rebate at Newegg:

You only hear mostly good things about the Pioneer speakers that Andrew Jones was involved with (including these and others).

I also hear good things about Micca MB42x, $80 at Amazon.

I've only listened to the Def Tech SM350, and yes, they're nice
