Hello friends at the AVS Forum,

My Philips CDR820 recently broke and I'm looking for a new CD changer that will play mp3 CD's.  I tried new ones from Yamaha and a Sony, but the mix did not sound right.  The bass was weak and the vocals were up in the mix.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What's your budget? I would suggest accessories4less.com. They often have the Denon and Marantz changers at very reasonable prices.

I would spend that money on a streaming unit with a remote control. You can then rip your cd's to digital computer files and play them on your streamer. You can develop playlists that will do exactly the same thing as the changer but without all the delays of a changer. Seriously, not many of us use CD players any longer.

Thanks for the response.  I don't want to spend much more than $400.

I haven't heard this particular player but any competent unit should have good SQ. If you're using an AVR/DAC you can just connect using coaxial or optical.
