Dimensions of TVs are specified as width, height, and depth - I'm not sure which one you are calling "long"? You can check the dimensions of various models by going to the websites of retail chains lke Best Buy and Circuit City, they show the dimensions for each model there.

Pete you are in the direct view section of the forum biggest thing we have is the Sony 40XBR800 which is 40 inches diagonal 4:3 set. Not sure what 43 inch sammy you are talking about but it isn't a direct view CRT.
