My options are the following:

Samsung LN32B360

Samsung LN32B460

Samsung LN32B530

Sharp LC32D47U

Sharp LC32E67U

I simply want to know which has the lowest input lag. I'm going to be using the display for only gaming purposes (its going in a custom built arcade cabinet) so input lag is of the utmost importance.

Given that I've received no replies so far, I'll expand my search a bit.

Could anyone suggest any 32" LCD that has absolutely minimal input lag? I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of visual quality and the TV will be permanently connected to a PC using either DVI to HDMI or straight HDMI. I know most TVs in PC mode disable a lot of the features that cause some input lag, so I'm hoping that works in my advantage.

Even better if any suggested TVs have actual tested input lag numbers.

search AVS for this thread "Lg xxlh30" (without the quotes ) then read the tests made by KVW, I can't post a direct link, bottom line, the LG LH30 series had the lowest input lag of 14 LCDs he's tested.

That was one of the threads I came across, but thanks for reminding me - I was looking at the thread at work and the pictures of his lag test were blocked. I will take a look at the thread again.

I believe the Panasonic LCDs have really low input lag. I noticed at a BB that Panasonic TC-L32C12 has very low lag (compared to adjacent sets (Samsung and Sharp), but the feed was QAM...

Hence, from what I've seen, several Panasonic LCDs have lower input lag than anything from Samsung or Sharp. Samsung sets typically lag really bad unless switched into game mode. Also, depending upon the samsung model, many, if not all, picture adjustments are locked, or limited.

Also, what sources do you plan on using with the 32"?

The only source that will most likely ever be plugged in is a PC over HDMI. Idealy I want a TV with a PC mode that just does minimal post processing so lag is at an absolute minimum.

The A series Samsung's from last year had a good HDMI-PC mode, but from tests I've seen (like KVW's), it seems they have removed it in the B's. I would definitely forget about them. Several of the Panasonic LCD's, at least some of the '09 LG's (like the LH30), and the Vyper Drive Sharps are going to have the lowest lag by a noticeable margin.

Excellent, thanks for the suggestions.

I've went through the LH30 thread so I'll keep that set in mind. Can you possibly suggest any specific Panasonic models that have been shown to have minimal lag?

As far as the Sharp models with Vyper Drive, I was actually waiting on the LC32E67U for quite some time and it's now available at the local Best Buy. My only concern is what kind of visual quality I can expect from it. I know I stated earlier that I'm willing to sacrifice some visual quality, but I don't want it to be reduced to complete garbage.

I know last year's 32lz800u (Panasonic LCD) had a very very good lag reputation, arguably the best. I'm not sure of the new models specifically, but I would imagine they're still good. I really have no idea about the picture quality of any of these unfortunately.

I see there are no Sonys on your list. Sonys are one of the best (if not THE best) gaming TVs on the market today. Input lag is just like dynamic contrast ratio; every manufacturer seems to measure it differently so you can't go strictly by the numbers.

Manufacturers don't publish numbers for input lag. They do publish response times, which is something different.

A display with a high response time can blur fast moving images on the screen, leaving a trailing effect (ghosting).

A display with high input lag introduces a delay between the time a signal is input and the time it is shown on the screen

Low input lag is critical for gamers particularly FPS gamers.

The TVs that I listed above were limited because those models are available through Best Buy and Futureshop in Canada, where I am able to get them at staff price.

No Sony's made the list because everytime I check out the current TVs on the market (about once every couple of weeks - I'm there a lot since my friends work there), the Sony's always seem to look the worst

Ultimately the display I settle on will be used strictly for fighting games like Street Fighter and there are a few things within fighting games that require strict timing down to a single frame.
