I'll need a RCA to 1/8" Mini stereo cable to hardwire my iPod in my car, but am looking specifically for one with an L-plug because of limited space. The only one I've been able to find is this one from Radio Shack. I'm a little concerned about the quality, however, given that the stock Bose HU in my car doesn't produce great sound quality anyways, I'm not sure if an inferior cable will make much noticeable difference. I'm tempted to just get it and save some money, but wanted to hear some opinions before I do.

I am ripping some of my music uncompressed, so I'm trying to get the best possible sound.

Plus, if anyone else knows of another source for a similar L-plug cable, please let me know.

With all the ambient noise in a car, and given the mediocre quality of most car audio systems (including yours), I doubt highly that anybody could hear any difference in cables. Plus, most iPod files are lo-rez anyway, further decreasing the need for hi-rez accessories.

If you really want a more expensive cable, I am sure, for a price, several mail-order cable makers will be happy to put one together for you. Here are few places that might help:

SignalCable.com

BlueJeansCable.com

Ramelectronics.net (AVS sponsor)

But I doubt even a die-hard cable geek would suggest hi-end cables for use with an iPod in a car.
