I currently have a 2.0 system that comprises of a Harmon/Kardon AVR235 and two Energy C-7s for the front. I was looking for a good pair of rear surround speaks (not bookshelves) that would complement my other two speakers. Is it a general rule to go with the same brand name and the same series of speakers? If so, I was looking at the Energy C-R1 rear channel speakers from The Good Guys for $157.00 each. I was also looking at the Cambridge S200 surround speakers but I am not sure if they will work well with my C-7s. Anybody have any knowledge on these speakers or any recommendations?

Theoretically and practically, that holds true. But it is not neccessary. IMO, you need to put much much more budget/emphasis on front, center, and subwoofer.

depends on what you are going to use them for...

movies, not so critical to match the rears. you don't get a lot of voices panning from front to rear.

multi channel music, much more important.
