Trying find a reasonably priced receiver that will work with 4ohm SLS speakers. Will be used conservatively at a reasonable volume. Any advise would be appreciated.

See pioneers with D3 amp. Not all pioneer avr's have D3.

Nope not true

Not all Elite Pioneer's are D3 amps(class-D). Only the Pioneer SC-xxxx and the Pioneer Elite SC-xx models are with Class-D(D3) amps, the others are regular A/B amps.

At reasonable volume levels, any Denon or Marantz model should work just fine. For louder movie reference levels, the flagship Denon 4520CI is specifically designed to power 4-ohm speakers at these volume levels.
