Hi all,

Anyone controlling there Barco via RS232? I am looking for the basic control function protocols. ON/OFF , Adjust, etc.

There's a Girder file floating around here or girder.nl that provides serial port control of a Barco from Girder. Just basic functions like ON/OFF and input selection I think, nothing more complicated than that.


I'm sure somebody has something relating to the protocol documentation, because I think CQC also has support for the Barco projectors, so there must be someplace that Dean learned this from.

If it would help, I started experimenting with RS232 control of my 1208/2 months ago, but had to postpone that for other projects...... I could capture HEX or ASCII data for the functions and post those.

 CQC has a Barco driver, plus a lot of other things. The new version is coming up soon (there is another post on this forum about it), which is extremely powerful, and you could do a lot more than just control the Barco with it. I've found the Barcos to be very quirky and hard to control via the serial protocol, but I don't own one myself so I've had to do all the work in dribs and drabs at user's homes, and it may just be lack of time to be able to spend with it.


If you really wanted to create a nice control system, why don't you work with me to create a good Barco driver for CQC. I'll give you a free copy of CQC in return. If anyone is interested, drop me a line. The current one is in C++, but I'd love to convert it over to CQC's built in CML language.
