I have a smallish 12'16' room where I have speaker wire run to either side of a Plasma TV. The I haven't decided on speakers yet. I want something small and want to spend no more than $400-500 for the speaker/amp components. I don't know a whole lot about audio nor am I one who wants the room to thump. I just want clear sound at a decent price - with small speakers that look appealing.
I like the look of the Acoustimass 3/5's - but after quite a bit of reading on the board I have found that few like them. So - I'm not stuck on them, I'm looking for suggestions of clear sounding speakers for a non-audio nut. Basically I want to play the occasional DVD, but mostly just listen to light music as I go from room to room.
Lastly, just to be clear - I'm only looking at a front speaker solution as that's where the speaker wire has been run in the wall. Do I then need a center speaker as well for general movie watching?
