My friend is ready to buy the Samsung UN40B6000, which is $1600 at Best Buy right now. Should he consider a different TV that is the same price or less? It looks to me like the XBR line is well above that price, and the LH60 isn't available yet... He'll be using it mainly for watching HD TV channels, playing PS3 games, and watching blu-rays.


Let me know if there are some other sets to think about. Thanks!

$1600 for 40 inches just seems like a waste to me. Personally, I would much rather have the LN46B550 for $900 and spend the remaining $700 on accessories, or step up to the LN52B750 for a few extra bucks.

I'd agree on the getting a nice 46" for the price, but he's really in love with the picture on the B6000 series.


Also, the LN46B550 isn't even 120hz, one of the reasons why he wants the B6000 is for the TV to remain viable as a nice TV for a long time...



Are there any other TV's close to it for cheaper, or the same price and better?
