I am presently setting up a new home theatre system and already bought a pair of Definitive Technology BP-7004 Bipolar SuperTower speakers with built in 10" powered subwoofers plus a Definitive Mythos Three center channel. I also just puchased a Denon 2807 A/V receiver

I have around $1,200 to spend on a good quality separate subwoofer. My room is 1,000 cubic feet that is open to a kitchen

I was looking at Velodyne and Definitive as a possible..... but am open to other brands............Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Vel and Def are good subs, imo SVS or HSU will give you more subwoofer for the for the price and better customer service before/during and after the sale, no question.

My first sub was going to be a Def Tech Supercube Reference. Now that I have an SVS PB12-Plus/2 for less money. I'm so glad I found a audio forum before purchasing.
