Looking to buy Samsung DLP 50" in the Bay Area, California (near San Francisco or Santa Clara. Recommendation on where to buy please!


I've been at the major stores in the Bay Area and my search is narrowing down to specialty hi-fi stores. But which one?


Thanks in advance for any help on the matter.


The model I'm looking for is the HLM507W and have cash in hand. Ready to buy. Any dealers on this board reading this?


Oh and BTW. I finally found out how to navigate "somewhat" my Skyworth remote control. Out of the box, the unit default setting can be viewed using the S-video output connection. In order to set the unit to Progressive Scan Out mode (using the remote (all of which is in Chinese "short-character form", press the lower left button (Mode) once. Immediately press the lower middle button (Enter). Scroll to the third page in the Mode screen and select YPrBr. After selecting YPrBr, press the lower right button (Return) and the Skyworth will now output thru the progressive scan connectors correctly.

You will see that these units are not expected to be released to retail until late late summer or fall at the earliest.

Best Buy is and has been a Samsung retailer. Fry's is too. I would look there when the time is right, which , as badga notes, is not for at least 2 months in all likelihood and probably more.

if i can find the samsung rep's business card i'll forward his e-mail address to you. he told me they would give some special treatment to those who attended the show...maybe they can get you a set earlier than September.
