Maybe true , maybe not ... the PS3 needs some big exclusive content before Xmas 07 and this one sounds like it will miss the boat

Extra 6 months dev time will certainly help the game but I have to be honest here and say that the game had better knock the freaking ball right out of the park seeing how it's one of the most desired PS3 titles to date .


But then again the 09/2007 time frame was probably never an official release window , anybody know for sure if Konami stated it would be out in 07 ?

i thought everyone knew MGS4 would be a 2008 title? anyone who thought MGS4 would be released in 2007 was dreaming.


2007 will be a pretty slow year for Sony. there are some good titles coming out this year, but nothing on the level of say, Halo 3. 2008 has many though and from then on, i think the ps3 will take off.


2007's biggest ps3 exclusive titles are R&C, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Warhawk, Lair and possibly Killzone. Home isn't a game, but it should spark some interest. who knows, maybe one of these games will turn out to be killer apps.

2008 has FFXIII/vs, MGS4, LBP, T6, GT5, Jak and Daxter, plus whatever else gets announced.

Sony recently has lead a lot of gaming media to believe that it was going to make this year. 1up/EGM on a regular basis was stating that it was going to make this year. I was very skeptical myself that it was going to make ti and figured it wasn't going to make this year either, but everyone seemed pretty positive that it would.

Pretty much all those games interest me more than Halo 3. If you're talking about popularity level though I'd have to agree. Halo is freaking huge. Also Lttle Big Planet will be out this year as a download. Disc version is in 2008.

I also thought that everyone already knew or at least assumed that MGS4 would be an 08 title. No doubt that the PS3 needs games, but even without MGS4 there will be more exclusive games out this year that I want for my PS3 and Wii than for my 360.


Here is what I will be buying in 07:


360: Mass Effect, Bioshock, Halo 3, (maybe Too Human)


PS3: LAIR, Heavenly Sword, NG:S, R&C, Warhawk, Uncharted

F, (maybe Sing Star for parties)


Wii: Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Smash Bros., NiGHTS, RE4wii, and a crapload of VC games.


Looks like an even match to me. I don't think I could choose just one console.

And that's the way it should be. Each system offers plenty of unique experiences. It'll cost you plenty to buy all three systems, but it's worth it.

To the best of my knowledge, there has NEVER been an official release date for MSG4 for 2007. Just because EBGames had a date that they are now pushing back doesn't mean there has been a delay. It simply means that EBGames was wrong with their guess.

Funny, I have seen people repeat MGS4 as a must have 07 title on here over and over.


A while ago a Kojima interview somewhat stated that it would not be out in 07. When asked about the 07 date, he replied "I didn't promise that! Raiden did "


Ofcourse the hopefuls fought this up and down.

Go back and watch the famous E7 trailer. CLEARLY states 2007.

i have very little interest in Halo too. but yeah, i was going by popularity rather than the quality of the games.

Setting a release date for the next year is pretty much the same thing as saying they don't even know when they'll release the game at all.

Oddly enough i don't care about MGS4.

IT will just suck compared to the first 2. IMO.

I figured that there was around a 85 percent chance the game would end up coming out in 2008, and about a 15 percent chance it would come out in 2007, so I wasn't holding my breath. The more interesting question at this point, is when will it actually come out in 2008. Typically, huge games like this either come out in the January thru March period, or September thru December. Very rarely, will you get a title of this magnitude coming out between April and August. If it can't make a late November 07 release, then that would suggest it wouldn't make a March release either. Because it wouldn't be worth it to delay the game a measly 4 months to miss out on being a huge 4th quarter smash hit. I know that 4 months of development time can make a big difference, but I'm talking from a business and marketing standpoint. So based on all of that, I'm guessing September 2008, and that is a long freaking wait for the Metal Gear fanboys.

Probably get a short playable demo about a week before Halo 3 ships in September.

Man, if the PS3 wasn't a Blu-Ray player, i would have sold it a while ago. I pretty much have used it to play God of War 2, and that's it. Lair can't come soon enough!!! Hope it does not get delayed, I would be really pissed!
