Yeah, looks like the dropped it again. About another $150 from a couple days ago (and there was much rejoicing). Based on the 6uy vs 7uy MSRP difference though ($1000) I think there is still some more downward room for the 7uy yet. 1800 plasmas still seems to have the low price though.
That's Great.

Since I'm not going to buy my TH-50PHD7UY locally anymore that $150 drop is definitively "SWEEEEEET". :D :D :D

Bruzzi, what are you waiting for? :)
Actually Shop Sunshine has an even lower price on the the 50phd7uy

Seems like every week it drops a 100 bucks.

If it get near or below 4 bills (incredible hope) by christmas there will be a

run on it the likes of which panasonic has never seen.

I found an authorized Panny dealer who has the same price as Shop Sunshine (which has a dubious reputation).

Backordered, though.

I believe 4 bills is the floor for this model.

1) Was waiting for that price drop. :D :D :D

2) I only have Sundays off. :(

Now that I decided to order the PHD50UY Online, I need to arrange with VA (Most definitively) if It's possible to deliver the plasma on a specific day so I can be home to receive it. :D
Great googly moogly. These things are getting cheap, Batman!
C'mon $2500!! :D

$2500 just isn't realistic.......go $3,000 by Christmas (I wish) :D
Ahhhh, but I never said by this year.

I honestly can see 50" plasmas for that in say ~ 2 years?? Given the trend in the past to reduce the cost to the consumer of these units by ~ 25% per year.

Then again I could be full of it as it is just speculation.

Whichever, the pricing is definetly going in the right direction...just last year (spring of 2003) a 50" HD set was running ~$7,000.
I just placed my order for a 50PHD7UY from VA. I spoke with Elizabeth and she was informed and effficient. She got the email confirmation to me immediately. FYI she is at extension 205.
I could not hold out any longer and placed the order 5 minutes ago. Given the native rate issue and cost of upgrading the card to DVI, I am changing from a Pioneer 503CMX.

This is an especially sweet price for an authorized and reputable dealer. Yes, it is $100 more than the competition (and ~$55 more for shipping) but it certainly is worth it given their knowledge, efficiency, and professionalism. Besides, they are in Seattle and have a warehouse with stock -- a positive since I live on the West Coast. I spoke with Matt Tucker (x255).

I'm looking forward to comparing it vs. the 503CMX - which I have owned for two years.

Hey let us know if VA is going to have it delivered on a specific day. I settle on a new house on Jan. 20th and would like it delivered on the 21st. I am getting ahead of myself or what?

I'm waiting for my house to be completed before I buy, It's suposed to be dec or early jan. Man this is getting harder everytime I read where one of you guys have bought one. I think I'll just go get my hammer and give those construction guys a little help.
Forget the hammer...pneumatic nail gun is what you need. ;)
rmcgirr83, you're absolutely right....now where did I put that air compressor?

Dude,

Wait until mid-January to order it, and the price will probably be even lower then, too!
A couple of places (less reputable) now have sub 4400 prices.

Seems they keep tabs on each other if you notice one has it

exactly $5 less than the other, down to the random cents number.

Still waiting after abandoning the 503 Pioneer at the alter. Need to save for one more month.

Has anyone noticed that when the prices were stratospheric we vaguely lusted after them but waited years for prices to drop to realistic levels with

no real break down the door anxiety.

Now that they are realistic and we can get them only days way the waiting is unbearable. I'm counting the minutes to payday and counting every dollar price drop.

heh, I know to wait as the price will drop. I am just getting excited. I don't want to have the movers move the set, plus, I am still very happy with my 65" RPTV that I am leaving behind.
