Normally, depending upon how they have the PSIP info set, KCET OTA can be had on either channel 28 or 59. But today when I tune either 28 or 59 I end up being switched to 80-3!! Weird...

For one thing I did not know that DTV channels could be mapped higher than 69 (I think). And on 80-3 I am seeing some shows that I have never seen before. I wonder if maybe this is KCET broadcasting the PBS National Loop. Reason I say this is because (1) there is NONE of the local LA scenery for the 5 minutes between shows (2) the KCET logo normally in the lower right is gone, replaced by some other station's logo OR the PBS logo in the lower right.

Anyway, there also appears to be NO mutlicasting going on, as I can not tune any other PBS DTV channels...and man oh man but the PQ is GORGEOUS!!!!!

anyone have any scoop as to what's up with this?

I noticed the same thing yesterday. It looked absolutely stunning and I was just about to record some of it to DVHS when they switched back. I hope KCET wakes up and realizes that the sub channel is killing the quality of the HD signal. I don't know what they are thinking when they simulcast the analog feed. People that are watching analog can get that signal, but people watching the digital channel should only want HD. Also, their HD picture is off center to the right quite a bit, but when they weren't broadcasting a sub channel yesterday the picture was centered perfectly.

I sent an e-mail to their service address several weeks ago complaining about the second channel degrading the PQ. I also complained about them not showing the national feed. They chose not to respond.

And they want me to send them money to help keep them on the air? Tell me again why would I do that? PS. That's a rhetorical question.
