FYI. I just purchased 6 Aura Interactors (back pack worn for gaming, etc.) which use the Aura 18 Watt Bass Shaker. The system comes complete with amp and shakers. I originally was considering the Pro Bass Shakers, but came across the outstanding buy that I could not pass up. I purchased the Interactors and was not sure if they had a high enough force output, etc. I disassembled 2 Inteactors to remove the shakers. I mounted 2 under the couch and used the 2 included amps set to music and fed in the LFE signal. In short I am pleased with the setup. The amps are class B and one could consider a better amp, but is an explosion with 2% distortion noticeable? Obviously one could use any amp they might like and your mileage may vary. All in all for a total cost of …..

$53. I have Shakers and amps delivered and installed on my couch. The units can be purchased from: http://www.oshealtd.com/interact.htm

The only bad part was that two of the actuators were damaged during shipment via UPS (glue between springs and outer ring broke due to a drop I would expect). I am pursuing a claim from UPS, and having 2 more sent from http://www.oshealtd.com/interact.htm to replace the others.

Happy shaking

Hi Gary.

How many shakers are in each vest? I couldn't get your numbers to add up. This sure sounds like a good way to put some rumble in a chair or two.

Sorry for the confusion. There is one actuator, amp and power supply per interactor unit. I purchased 6 assuming that I might need 4 for the main couch and 2 for the love seat. Currently 2 vibrate the couch pretty well. I will mount 2 on the love seat, and have 2 extra. So again the total cost for 2 interactors which I am using for one couch is $50 (units) +$3 mounting stuff. Good luck.

Are you using that amps that came with the vests? Was this a easy retrofit (ie disassembling the vests, mounting the shaker etc).

Amps: Yes believe it or not I am using the amps that came with the vest. I initially thought I would just try them out, etc. But for now I find them acceptable. I do have an older 2 channel (125 Watt) amp that I could use, but if the stock amp will do the trick! The stock amps are a bit cumbersome with the AC adapter and amp unit, etc. For that price, obviously you can throw away the amps and use another and still have a great buy. The power amps have red LED's that light when you are at or exceeding the maximum output. I have adjusted the gain such that the red lights will come on slightly for heavy explosions, etc. For me the two units and amps put out enough force. Your mileage may vary.

Installation: Disassembly was easy (assuming you have torx head screw drivers!) I have a reclining sofa and love seat with round steel tube running across the bottom of each recliner section. I made aluminum spacers to fit between the outer shell of the Shaker and the bar (to allow distance for throw of the actuator. Then I attached them using two U-bolts. The U-bolts go around the bar past the spacer and through the holes in the Shaker. Then nuts and washers were applied.
