I was just wondering if there are any shortcomings to a Spyder 3 and gamma reading. I am using the Calman software. I guess I went about this all wrong. I am using the Spyder 3 with a Lumagen HDQ to tame the colors on a RS-1U. After calibrating greyscale and getting some help with gamut, I checked the gamma. It was reading an average of 1.257. I called Lumagen and they said they had never heard of a JVC measuring that low. The colors are beautiful and the greyscale pattern show no major problems. The tech said probably getting some wrong readings from the meter.
