Wondering if anyone has had low output from a sub when listening to 3/2.1 programming? The sub provides plenty of volume in 2.0/stereo.....

Any advice is appreciated.

ONKYO 601 This is a newer receiver. Matched with a Velodyne sub. I originally had trouble with the sub not turning on (auto settiing), but resolved that by installing a 1 to 2 Y splitter for the sub RCA inputs.

The speakers are the Acoustimas 10 system (I will be upgrading soon).

Thanks.

If your Onkyo sets up similar to mine, you might have the option for specifically setting the bass output for DD or DTS beyond just the standard speaker level calibration. Sort through the manual or menus to find it. This setting might be lower currently and therefore is the reason you lose output when playing a DD or DTS soundtrack. Find that and set it to 0dB.
